Always Hopeful, Always Prudent – Thursday. 28 April

my print-at-home ticket
I knew that it would be a stretch, making it to a concert the night I arrived in Paris.  But I’ve never heard Dvořák’s Stabat Mater in person, and the Orchestre de Paris and the Chœur de l’Orchestre de Paris were performing it up at the Philharmonie tonight, and I was hopeful (as always), so I bought a cheap €10 ticket in the top balcony (my favorite spot!) a few weeks ago.  But with all the rigmarole with getting into the apartment and dealing with the previous renters, I didn’t get enough down time for my legs to recover from the journey – I could medicate the pain, but they were just too weak to risk the trip out to the Philharmonie, either by Metro or bus (or even Uber).  So caution won the evening and I stayed home to get a good night’s sleep.

For info about the Philharmonie, check out these prior posts on my blog:  Philharmonie June 2015 and Philharmonie October 2015

And speaking of staying home, here’s a clever idea from the apartment’s owners!  Rather than building closets or installing a fancy wardrobe, they painted three old gym lockers a dark grey.  Groovy!
