40 degrees F. is warm enough (if you're a Minnesotan) to eat outside if you keep your coat on, despite the fact that patio heaters have been outlawed. Especially if you're served creamed roasted chestnut soup with slivers of duck confit, tiny croutons, a couple slices of raw chestnut, crème fraîche, along with a basket of bread, red wine, and espresso. Nice and warming, and just the thing for my first meal this trip. And just 1/2 block from home, at Au Bourguignon du Marais. C'est trés joli!
Of course, a lovely restaurant interior is available to you non-Minnesotans!

Ha! I'm sure you'd recover the cold weather survival skills pretty quickly, Terri!
