My Biggest Challenge So Far - Monday, 25 September

My biggest challenge so far: the shallow and tall steps to get into the building containing my apartment! I haven’t plunged headfirst while pushing on the heavy door and simultaneously trying to hoist myself up a step without catching my toe on the lip, but hey there’s still time!

Oh, yes, my other big challenge has been refraining from buying one of everything at Boulangerie Eric Kayser (just over a block from the apartment), but so what else is new?

For some odd reason my tastebuds crave pizza the day I arrive in Paris – it's been like this for years  – go figure! Happily, “Il Tre” is just around the corner (remember that place, Beth Ann and Lydia?). And they make a very fine rendition of my favorite: crushed tomatoes (not a thick sauce) on the crust, ham, mushrooms, Kalamatas, artichokes and a little mozzarella. And all for me! Wheee!
